Who We Are: The Story Behind the Game
WRBA is a non-profit collective of age 18+ women championing girls and women of all ages to keep playing. Our aim is to CONNECT women athletes, NOT to compete with other organizations. We hope to be a tool that unites everyone so we can all find more opportunities to #KeepPlaying.

Our mission and vision
To ignite confidence, community, and joy for women through the power of sports.
Transforming women's lives and health through the power of play.
Our Values
Health
We nurture the whole woman. Our programs nurture physical and emotional health and encourage active minds, bodies and hearts, having a lifelong impact on well-being.
Equity
We push for equity. Recognizing the barriers for adult female participation in sports, we prioritize communities that need us most.
Community
We create community. In a world where there are concerns over isolation and mental health, we build a place for women to come together and play.
Inclusion
We stand for inclusivity. We provide access to sports for women ages 18-100+ with all abilities and backgrounds.
Championing Women
We believe in the power of women. Our women-centered programs offer a community where confidence and leadership is nurtured.

What is the WRBA?
The Women's Recreational Basketball Association (WRBA) is a non-profit collective of women age 18+ championing girls and women of all ages to keep playing. It is for women who play recreational basketball, whether they never played or never stopped, and for the members who lead WRBA chapters in their cities. It helps members join a chapter, find local and national events, and connect with other members. The aim of WRBA is to connect women athletes, not to compete with other organizations.
As of October 2026.
